Less than three hours away from Bangkok, we arrived in three large white vans to the lovely Anantasila Villa.
My aunt arranged the trip, from the transportation to the hotel booking, as a way for all the family to be together outside the city.
I loved getting up to eat breakfast with them, the summer breeze in our unkempt hair (or at least my hair was gloriously unkempt). Afterwards, we would all meet at the pool where we took a dip when it got too hot, lounged when we got tired, and snacked when we got hungry. I even got a beachside massage for $10!
In the evenings, we took taxis to the night market in town where we ate fresh seafood and perused the stall for souvenirs and snacks.
We only stayed three days, but it was enough to recharge from hectic Bangkok and spend more time with each other and the ocean breeze. I’m so grateful our Aunt did this for us as a thank you for flying out to visit her on her birthday.
